I agree Realtek appears to be the issue - I just know there has to be a solution like drivers that can read the mic/headset over one 3.5mm audio jack.
I tried "Spatial Sound" options - Windows Sonic / Dolby Atmos for headphones - thinking this install would maybe be a solution because Xbox uses it - but it did not really change anything beside the sound quality output of the pc. It's 2018 and there are devices with one single 3.5mm combo plug - a brand new z270 chipset mobo is not one of tried downloading drivers for the same manufacturer's other hardware, a pc version headset - but it would not read my headset input in order to install.
Practical in my eyes is finding a permanent software solution without having to rig extra hardware or buy a splitter. It's a case of plug, play, and pair, and then you'll be good to go.If it were as simple as using a micro usb then maybe but having to "rig" the xbox controller just to use the microphone/headset combo in my eyes is impractical. If your headset doesn't support Bluetooth, and most Xbox One wireless headsets don't, you'll need to buy an Xbox Wireless USB dongle to connect it up to your PC. Im not sure if this helps, but I have 2 bluetooth adapters (not Microsoft brand), and I wish to ask if anyone knows if I will be able to use the Xbox One controller via bluetooth.
I am planning to buy a bluetooth Xbox One controller to be used with a WIndows 10 PC. What if you want to use the headset wirelessly, though? If the headset has Bluetooth, like the SteelSeries Arctis 9X or LucidSound LS50X, it's simply a case of following the headset's instructions and pairing the headset with your PC or laptop's Bluetooth functionality. Xbox One Controller with Bluetooth Headphones on WIndows 10 at the Same Time. If you're using an older motherboard in your PC, you may need a red/green splitter adapter such as this Y splitter from Amazon, to give you both sound and microphone recording. You might also have the problem of one earbud. You can use both controllers wirelessly with your PC, but the process is different you must get a wireless dongle for the non-Bluetooth gamepads. If that is the case, then you’ll need to use the second method below. Original Xbox One controllers lack wireless connectivity, but the gamepads that shipped with the Xbox One S and later consoles include Xbox wireless communication and Bluetooth. It seems like this is a Microsoft Issue that they have not taken responsibility for. I was able to successfully connect the headset to PS4, Xbox One controllers, PC but not the Xbox One S. 11, 2014 1:33 pm EST Its time for the bring-your-own-headset change-over in the Xbox One Wireless. I had the same issue with a brand new pair of Turtlebeach headsets. If you have the original Xbox One controller, there is no headphone socket. The 3.5mm headphone jack on all wired headsets is included. Most of them use 3.5mm sockets, optionally, to connect with other devices.
It all ultimately depends on what features the headset has. I read a post made in 2018 that it still wasn't possible to get sound via bluetooth on an Xbox One controller using the audio jack.
